Thuesday update!
In the last poll, it was asked how you'd deem the text description placement during the adult scenes, with 1008 votes gathered!
It's been perfectly fine so far
Won by 70%, being 709 of the votes.
Could be lower on the screen
Second, 28% with 285 of the votes.
Could be higher up on the screen
Lost by 1%, being 14 of the votes.
The results surprised me a little, I was getting the feeling the text blocked too much of the scenes, but it sounds like I was among the minority!
And this week the expressions to share is, Farah - Normal Expression.
Surely what people have been waiting for all along, the adult and motherly version of the woman you get to lecture and train on your journey...depending on your choises of course!
As for LoQO: Origin progression, the town of Brightstone is finally completed and the last explorable field with monsters is currently under way too, after that is done, only three ranches/farms/mansions remain before all explorable locations in Episode I is finished! I think that makes it around 28 explorable locations, more or less the same amount as the whole Kingdom of Namaria map (before ship access) in LoQOII.
Sorry for the light update, but I've catched a cold as of today so I'm a little thick headed. x3
That's all for this week!
Farah's emoticon also looks very good. Oman I'm loving this. They look miles better than LoQO II's emoticons. IMO of course.
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteAnd btw, you're saying that the first episode is as big as Namaria? That's insane! I can't imagine what the game will be by the end...
DeleteOh and hope you get well too.
Location wise, kinda...the first episode in this game is roughly 1/3 or 1/4 the size of Namaria worldmap, but has as many visitable locations in that smaller space then the whole map in LoQOII. (Before ship access)
DeleteSo it's a lot more efficient and doesn't have as much dead open space. xD
Like...think that large region between Northern Gate and Dunes of Shabeera, that is also roughly 1/4 of the worldmap, yet only has around 12 locations, while in LoQO: Origin, it would be 28. x3
Gabe, great to hear you say that! I agree that having too much dead space isn't a good thing. It's not the size of the map that counts, it's how you use it!
DeleteI'm impressed you continue to come up with ways to improve the game! Hope the Beta feedback will help with that as well. Glad things have turned out great so far!
Will the tower of despair or something similar with the random floors make a return? I actually really enjoyed going through it and was great for experience points
ReplyDeleteMost likely a episode III addition, if I'm allowed to get that far in production. :D
Deletethy must, it is the will of the gods
DeleteOk, so pretty much all Namaria will be only the first episode of LOQO:O?
ReplyDeleteDamn that kind of hard work makes me feel lazy....then again I'm just sitting here playing video games and jerking off and the limit of my hard work is when I combine the two :-P
Lol, yeah, in terms of "local" regions you enter through the worldmap, the worldmap itself is the same size as Namaria, but only uses 1/3 or 1/4 of it for episode I. :3
DeleteKinda like comparing GTAV with San Andreas, San Andreas "feels" much bigger since it has three cities and all of that, but apparently GTAV is between 4-10 times bigger...the same thing can be said here, LoQO: Origin will use space a lot better than LoQOII. ^^
"Lecture and train"? I like that. I bet young Farah is *very* eager to learn.
ReplyDeleteOh yes... >3
DeleteReally awesome emoticons overall.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
I'm already well! Oddly enough, the cold only lasted a single day. x3
Deletesurely it must be a sign that something greater wants you to keep up the good work!
DeleteHi. I recently finished both of your games ( frekin loved them ) and I would love to contribute to the making of Origins but the thing on "offbeart.com" already ended so how else do I donate? And i can't find Gabe's email on google+ maybe I'm just stoopid but i can't find it :/
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you enjoyed them! And check the comments on any of the previous blog updates, it feels like I've given out my mail at least one in each one this month. x3
DeleteYou seem to be getting a lot of donation requests Gabe. Have you thought about creating a Patreon account so that people can donate more easily? Considering 76% of people that read this blog didn't donate on Offbeatr a percentage of those would probably chip in $5-10 a month to get beta access.
ReplyDeleteGood idea actually. If things go right you wouldn't even need to start another offbeatr campaign. And you'll get 90% of donated money, unlike that robbery on offbeatr.
DeleteQuestion.
ReplyDeleteI assume Origin is gonna follow up on the tradition of choosing/marrying/otherwise picking one of the three main heroines. Is this aspect going to be expanded on a little bit more, so instead of a "pick A B or C" kind of thing it gets a bit more intricate and complicated if you want to "achieve" a certain heroine "ending"? So it's not limited to a single dialogue option but maybe some small sub-quest(s) or otherwise completing something to effectively earn yourself one of the heroines. This was kind of implemented in II, but it was limited to dialogue options (which were all too easily identified as the "proper" ones anyways) in taverns.
Also, will the three main girls be the only options for a treatment such as this as was the case in the two previous games, or will you be able to basically pick a different waifu (hate the word but it best represents what I mean here) from the new plethora of characters?
Since the story is made from the ground up with the intention to allow much more varied endings, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to marry anyone of the core collection of ladies...or perhaps have yourself a harem.
DeleteBut we are two episodes away and two years from the end, so it's really far too early to tell. :)
