And we're down to the final week of the year!

Last Friday the latest beta hit my Patreon which needed a quick fix and a re-upload.
But other than that, like nearly everyone else, I've mostly been busy with the holidays and trying to take a day off when possible.
I'm probably going to lay low for a couple of more days until after New Year's Eve before I'm heading back into the project, although that is no promise as I'm terrible at saying I'm supposed to take it easy but end up working anyway.

So with that, I wish you a Happy New Year and I'll see you again in the futuristic 2022!

Merry Upcoming Christmas, everyone!

On Friday I'll be releasing the next beta on my Patreon for you people to enjoy over the holidays!
There are a lot of under-the-hood stuff in it, but what you will notice are expeditions being expanded, two more recruits for Castle Warrengard, the citadel being able to host the Tavern Wench Challenge, more Laquadia interractions and four new side-quests.

If any of the new content has issues, I'll wait a couple of days to make sure the majority of them has been reported, then fix it and have the beta re-uploaded with fixes before the end of the year.
But if everything plays out the way it is intended and no bugs are discovered, then it's all good!

See you again in the last week of the year, and I wish you a good christmas!

It's getting nearer that magical time of the year when Santa steps out of his cryo chamber to dominate the world for one night and breaks into every home to steal their milk and cookies.

And holy shiitake did I get stuff done this week!
The mechanics surrounding the two new recruits mentioned last week is done, with tavern/stable and expeditions intertwined to influence each other in one way or the other.
Sunny-Sue Ellen providing her milking expertise to provide a Tavern Wench variation, acquiring horses for your stable to cut expedition time in half, Tavern Wench giving a morale boost to troops that increases their performance, expeditions now letting you chase bounties and put them in jail, unlocking another Tavern Wench variation, etc.

I'll stop there, because at least one new thing I didn't mentioned should come as an surprise!

So with that, I'll head back to work and see you again next Tuesday!

They always said winter is coming...and looking at the thermostat outside, I'd say it's here!

Grand Bridge can now be liberated in expeditions, opening up the Imperial Manor for exploration again and allowing you to recruit Layla the Mare and a butler who has been retro-actively added into the High Lord Gathering sequence to make it seem like he was always there with the chef.
Sunny-Sue Ellen has also been added to the list and can be recruited anytime after the Warrengard Stables has been renovated.

Both of them will offer up expedition benifits and I'm currently in the process of working on those mechanics, as gaining Layla and the butler will open up the tavern at Castle Warrengard.

Stay frosty, literally if you live in Scandinavia, and I'll see you next week!

One beta release later.

Yeah, that did happen over the weekend!
Unfortunately, my computer chair finally cracked after being punished under my thicc ass for seven years this past Sunday and has made working a lot more harder until the new one I ordered arrives tomorrow or on Thursday.

So while I can't sit for as long without hurting my back to balance out the missing wheels on my chair, I've still made some progress and is currently working on adding Layla the Mare and Sunny-Sue Ellen to the list of recruits you can get for Castle Warrengard, like how it was with Instructor Stella and Behelda the Blacksmith.

We'll see what the next week has to offer, see you then!

I'm so sorry, I only have good news this week...

So let's get right into it by saying I've finished the cutscene I was working on for the past few weeks with the new CG Scene included, which means the next beta will hit this weekend with that added along with fixes to expeditions making the screen going dark on return, a way to travel back to the Beldorian Empire without the use of crystals and some corrected graphical oddities.
I probably won't add anything new between now and the updated beta, but I will be tweaking some things and make slight improvements.

Hope you'll enjoy this weekend and I'll see you again next Tuesday!

Time to knock another one of these outta the park!

Yup, still working on that cutscene I mentioned last week, it needed some tweaking to get certain parts to click appropriately and I also changed the mood for the whole setup to the CG Scene, along with how the guest appearance is implemented.

The throne room scenario has also been extended to give more of an impact to past choices.
There was also a bug brought to my attention that affected the Art Gallery and the Encyclopedia when accessing them in cerain caves since I removed the block from viewing them in hostile locations and outdoor, that took some time but would've required a lot more attention if I had implemented the Quick-Menu to more areas outside Castle Warrengard.
I still hope to get a new beta out this month with the new cutscene and CG Scene added.
Although, I think it's still too early to predict anything.

Beep-Boob! See you next Tuesday, fellow humans!

And now back to our regular schedule.

I'm still working on the cutscene where you get to learn about the ancient race, Zweibelle, etc.
But it's also going to have a new CG Scene, between the main character and this certain woman who shouldn't come as an surprise to those who played the latest beta to its conclusion.
And the base for that CG Scene was actually done too, this week!
Although, I intend to extend it with the inclusion of a "guest" who can join in with the right choice, and I also need to go over a few parts to change/polish some of the content.

Sadly, that's all there is to this update, so I'll see you again next Tuesday!

Happy Halloween!

Have some ghostly titties to come haunt you because you and Gabrielle couldn't well leave the Drowning Castle alone!

Hopefully it isn't noticeable, but I'm pretty dang exhausted right about now. x3
Just came back after hours of writing up nearly everything that'll cover the backstory of the game lore, setting up and giving you the answers to the ancient race, Zweibelle's species, the Dragons of the Nine's
creation etc.

But there was also a beta released over the last weekend, so I've been doing some bug fixes and added a way to travel between the Beldorian Empire and the Frozen Continent without the use of the teleportation crystal, in case you never found it.

Now if you'll excuse me, need a minute of me-time and I'll be back again next Tuesday!

I managed to get the main cutscene and the subsequent one done this week.
There is still movement mapping, emoticon layout and a few minor details to add, but the dialogues and cutscenes as a whole are complete and will be included in the next beta!

And that one will be released this weekend with those few storymode inclusions, along with several fixes, improvements and nerfed waiting period for expeditions, three more photoshoot characters, a statistics menu when interracting with characters, Stella added to Strippin' o' Die and finally Laquadia's International Edition version for it as well.

That'll be it for now, so I'll see you again next Tuesday!

Halloween is getting closer, ya'll!

I'm afraid there is barely anything to report, which is usually the case when I'm on story duty.
Still working on that audience cutscene and it's coming along pretty smoothly, even though I had to change some things along the way like Celestia's personality ending up being quite different from what I originally had in mind.

Still unsure if it'll make the next beta since the audience need a shorter follow-up cutscene as well before I can let it be properly experienced, but hopefully I'll know more next week along with a narrower window for when the beta is getting released!

So with that short update, we're in for another week before next Tuesday!

Don't forget to insert weekly comment here. Seriously, don't forget.

The statistics menu is done and a new cutscene progressing the story has been added.
The next one will probably take some time though, as it'll directly or indirectly shape which direction the rest of the game will take from that point on.
Yes, it is the long awaited audience with Queen Celestia and King Azastral!

I'm also going to drop another beta later this month since I feel it has enough bug fixes and extra content to warrant a release, although it's far too early to tell if the audience will make it in time.

But that has to be it for today, so I'll see you again next week!

Spoopy October has arrived, bowoo~

A few smaller bugs have been squashed this week, but most noticeable is probably the one related to being downed as some people had issues with having the state cured.
While I couldn't see what exactly caused this in the coding, I decided to rewrite the entire script in a different take instead that'll hopefully have the problem solved.

Besides tracking down glitches, I'm still in the process of adding the statistics menu.
I've also added Stella to Strippin' o' Die, along with including Opala, Ra'Tiki and Stella to the photoshoot mechanic and updated the game with some more International Edition illustrations.

That'll be it for today, so head back here next Tuesday for another update!

Guess what, it's been a whole week since last Tuesday! MADNESS!!!

This probably won't be a too entertaining update as most of this past week was spent on prepping up the latest beta for release over the weekend...and released it was!
I worried expeditions would've had a bunch of bugs I missed, although so far it seems like the only accounted issue is with the countdown timer being delayed when moving between maps.
It'll be fixed for the next beta so it won't be an issue, along with some additional balancing.

Other than that, I've been working on adjusting menus with character interractions.
Renaming some things and also including a statistics list so you can check how many times you've won against each individual person in Strippin' o' Die, along with seeing how often you've snu-snu'ed them in the tent or your private chambers.

So that'll have to be all for now, I'll see you guys again next week!

I have good news and some more good news, but I'll start with the good news!

I believe the expedition mechanic has reached a point where I finally got everything figured out.
And while it doesn't look or seem that impressive at first glance, I'm pretty sure it's the most complex mechanic I've done so far with all the different calculations running in the background.
One of the things that was holding it back was deciding how to deal with the different scouting spots you can send your troops to gather material from, something I wasn't sure how to balance or restrict until I found the best solution was to make it an infinite resource where each location has its own set of various material that is randomly rolled each time.
This way I can also re-shuffle the loot pool later or add in new rewards without having to take into consideration if the place has already been explored before or not.

I also solved how to let the players manually check exactly how many minutes are left before an expedition is over to let you send out the troops out again, along with claiming any reward.
So it looks like the next beta will be out this upcoming weekend, y'all!

Thus, I'm out for today and back again next week!

Seven days...and we're still all here!

Most of this week has slowly but steadily been spent on the expedition mechanic.
I've also updated some CG Scenes with the previously missing International Edition version, along with adding a clocktower to Castle Warrengard where Paellicia will be moved to.

I'm certain there was more, although I can't for the life of me remember what at this moment.
So unfortunately that means it's going to be a short Tuesday update this time. Dx
However, the expedition mechanic should hopefully be done by next week!

I'll be back again next Tuesday as always!

Better take a look at that calendar, it's freakin' Tuesday!

It took a couple of scrapped cutscenes in multiple locations to get the tone right, but I'm finally satisfied and thus Instructor Stella has now been formally introduced in the game!
She and Behelda the Blacksmith becomes available for recruitment at the same time and will both be mentioned by Black Dame once you've escaped Blackgard Stronghold, the difference is Behelda will already be in Castle Warrengard setting up shop while Stella is someone you need to personally meet up with first at Whitehaven.
Recruiting a person will list what unlocks, so that has also been retroactively added to Behelda.
(Although, she is pretty self-explanatory for those who already have her)

I also did some minor adjustments, such as letting the Castle Warrengard workers give you a bit more specified description on what they'll do and what you'll unlock, before you commit.
My next step will be focusing on getting the expedition mechanic done within this month, and once I do, I'll immediately release another beta.

Have a good one, and see you in the next update!

Surprise, it's Tuesday again!

The beta was released over last weekend as scheduled, but sadly I had to scale back and remove the main feature that would've been the expedition mechanic due to some last-minute changes.
This will most likely mean yet another beta will be out next month, with that added back in.
The reason I had to make it inaccessable by normal means is that some things would've been hard to implement later if the content has already been interracted with, so I had to make that call.
But again, it'll be included within a September window that'll also fix some Naz'Raala related bugs.

Other than that, this week hasn't been spent on much else than prepping for that beta and then fixing some issues that was reported after release, which makes for a less than exciting update.

Although, there is always a next week!

Heck yeah, you better believe it's Tuesday!

With the end of the month looming over the horizon, this week has mostly been spent on tweaking things for the upcoming beta that'll most likely be hitting over the weekend.
Currently the Quick-Menu has been applied to every corner of Castle Warrengard, but I'm uncertain if I should expand it to the rest of the game just yet or keep it to the citadel for this beta in order to ensure I get some feedback first with less hassle to make any potential changes.
I mentioned before that applying this would allow for sprinting indoors, and on the flip-side, it'd also let you access all the menus (Art Gallery, Encyclopedia etc.) at outdoor locations.
Although, enemies won't politely wait for you to finish polishing ye ol' broomstick, so expect to be ambushed the moment you exit the menus if you're in a hostile area.

And while Instructor Stella can't be recruited properly, she'll still be available anyway so players can try out the new party training and expedition mechanics, since she will be required for those.
Naz'Raala as a party member and Lady Farah added to the tent mechanic will also be in it!

That'll be all for today, though! See you again next week!

It's that faithful day of the week again!

After trying a few different versions, I decided the best layout for the Quick-Menu was to make it simple and straightforward to fit the namesake and functionality. (Preview down below!)
I think this is also the best possible solution to show expedition progress as it's just one button press away, with the extra pop-up only displayed in the Quick-Menu while an expedition is active.
The only downside I could find is that the button press is considered a priority command by the game, so if you were to press it during a dialogue, interraction, etc, it would be queued up to instantly trigger once the previous event finished.

Under normal circumstances, this shouldn't be a problem, but it could have some negative effects if you tried triggering the Quick-Menu during cutscenes since they are more complex, so the solution to that would simply be to manually disable priority commands during cutscenes.
While easy to do, it'll be a bit time consuming since I have to edit every cutscene in the game.

Even if I had scrapped the Quick-Menu idea, I'd still have to edit the cutscenes, because toggling sprinting ON/OFF is another priority command which has to be corrected as well.
Doing that will also give me a good excuse to include the sprinting option to all indoor locations.
I intend to assign the Quick-Menu to the A button, and have sprinting moved to Z/Shift instead.
I'm not a PC gamer, but I think Shift for sprinting is better and somewhat common?

Anyhoo, that's a lot of talking for barely any substance!

What the heck, Tuesday again already...!?

At least I got some work done this week so all those days weren't for nothing, ho ho!
The in-game results of expeditions has been finished, these are things like your troops showing up in locations currently being explored during the cooling timer and your soldiers replacing the Beldorian Forces at checkpoints you've taken over.
So, yes, this means the Imperial Manor can now be visited again once you liberate Grand Bridge.

Another thing I've been working on is some kind of way to let the player know when an expedition is active/over without it being intrusive or in the way.
Initially this was done as a pop-up icon during dialogues, which I scrapped since it'd be annoying having to talk or interract with someone, just to see if the latest expedition is done or not.
Next, I tried assigning a worldmap to a button, with the current status showing up there.
This was good, but...if I could do that, why not take it one step further by making this button press a kind of "Quick-Menu" instead where you can access the most useful inventory items directly, such as the Art Gallery, Encyclopedia, Journal and the World Map?
And this is where I am now, I'm experimenting with the Quick-Menu to ensure it works properly without colliding with other events or glitch something unforseen before it's approved.

Thus, that's all for today! See you again next Tuesday!

Time for another Tuesday round-up!

Right off the bat, I should disclose I took a few days off last week..."vacation", if you will!
But I'm already back at work and what I've done so far is more tinkering with the expedition mechanic and adding beastman variations for one of the art styles in Gabrielle's CG Scene.

There is still a lot more to be done with the expeditions as it has a lot of things running in the background, taking story progression into account, expeditions in progress reflected in the world, etc, but I aim to have the majority of it done by the time the next beta is released, which should be toward the end of this month.

I'm afraid that has to be it for today, so let's look ahead to next week instead!

"Attention, class!"

Here we are with the next emoticon.
This time the default expression for Instructor Stella, a recruitable ally who'll spearhead your troops during the expedition mini-game and also offer her services as an instructor to help your party members level up, in case they've fallen behind.

It's been a pretty Stella focused week too with a couple of small cutscenes in process, and your first/initial dialogue with Beatrix altered to mention your mentor during Crusader training.

I've also been making a bit more progression with the expeditions, and I think that's about everything I have to report for this week.

Tune in next Tuesday for more as always, though!

Tuesday, don'tcha know!?

I figured out a good use for the old, previously unused stables in the courtyard.
A gymnasium/dojo that'll give Stella a second purpose where you can pay her to train your party members to gain experience and be boosted to the same level as the main character, but the higher the gap, the more expensive it'll be. (Currently a range between 5,000-30,000)

It went through a couple of iterations before I could find one that worked and I felt satisfied with, so while it's fully implemented now, it took up the vast majority of this week to get right.

And that's just about it for today, I fear! But another update is coming next week as always!

This 'effing heatwave can go away any day now, am I right!?

While I originally really wanted Lady Farah to be in focus for the expedition mechanic since she has the diplomatic skills required to enlist new recruits and make your army grow, I quickly realized she was a poor fit for leading soldiers into battle during the liberations.
Lady Farah and Queen Opala depended on Supreme Commander Seth to oversee the Egyptian Army for a reason, you know?
I'd also be a pretty big oversight on Devon's part to willingly put her in harms way, and while Beatrix surely would've been a good fit as well, having a character be apart of the expedition mechanic also mean they'll be absent from Castle Warrengard and/or your party during those sequences.

So to work around it all, Stella is being introduced.
She'll be the cruel, uncompromissing instructor who'll spearhead your operations and whip your recruits into real soldiers, as she was once with the Beldorian Forces and the teacher who trained the Crusaders.

She might look like Quistis from Final Fantasy VIII, but if anyone was the inspiration of her design, I'd say Meiko from Prison School.

And just like that, another week is ahead of us!

Y'all know the drill!

In a way, this week has also been spent on the expedition mechanic.
Although in a different way as I've expanded Castle Warrengard with two more things to build, a larger stable and a forward camp, both located outside the citadel on each side of the main road.
The stables will allow you to recruit Sunny-Sue Ellen to come living and running the show for you, and the forward camp will give your army a place to stay while also letting you send out expeditions without the need to visit your chambers or having it built/upgraded in the first place.
If you already have your private quarters done and ignore to build the forward camp, you can still send out expeditions, but you won't be able to boost your army with additional troops, making liberations harder to pull off.

The old stable in the courtyard will be repurposed to something else, and whatever I turn it into, you won't have to build/upgrade it again if you've already done so.

That's about it for now! See you guys again next Tuesday!

Time to nail down one more of these!

This is another week almost entirely spent on the expedition mechanic.
The majority probably being on making the fog of war adapting to every outcome, as each point liberated dissolve a portion of the fog and reveals additional locations to explore/liberate.
It came down to 27 variations in total.

I've also added some illustrations for scenes and mini-games previously missing other art styles, along with updating the displayed text for when gaining/losing relationship and the hero/renegade points during conversations so it's displayed in the same font as the dialogue.

But that's all for this week, so onward to the next Tuesday!

Let's get this show on the road, shall we?

I've spent pretty much this entire week working on the mechanic I mentioned in the last update.
It's panning out better than expected with lots of opportunities presenting themselves as I progress, it'll essentially be a strategy mini-game where you move your troops across a tiny version of the Beldorian Empire worldmap and claim military checkpoints to remove a fog of war and unlock more areas where you can boost your army and send them on expeditions to bring back stuff.
Claiming checkpoints also effects the main game, like I said last week with how liberating the Imperial Manor will give you back access to the location and let you "rescue" Layla the Mare.
I debated with myself who should lead the army in the field for strategy/diplomacy, and it came down to either creating a new character for the purpose, have it be Beatrix, or even Lady Farah.
Taking everything into account, I figured the best choice would probably be Lady Farah.

Oh, I've also published the comic "In the Shadow of Anubis III - Chapter 02" on my Patreon!

And that's about it, see you guys again next Tuesday!

Where do I even start this week! Well, since I only did one thing, let's begin there!

Okay, so I may have lied with the opening line to make a joke as I've done more than that.
A frequently requested fan-favorite has been implemented with everything it entails, and that comes in the form of Naz'Raala now being recruitable to join your party with her unique set of skills.
She might not be much of a team-player with her background, but she is certainly more than capable of being the last (wo)man standing against a tough opponent and is quite the heavy hitter.
Just like everyone else in the party, Naz'Raala will also show up in camp after joining, have a helmless outfit unlocked through Strippin' o' Die and have her own set of weapons/costumes.

Another thing I've been working on is a mechanic where you can send your army to liberate area, but this is still very early in the planning stage so I can't confirm it'll actually pan out.
However, it's something I've always intended to do for quite some time, for example, it'd be a way to regain access to the Imperial Manor so you can visit the location again and have Layla the maiden mare moved to Castle Warrengard.

I also found the time to finish writing the dialogues for "In the Shadow of Anubis II - Chapter 2" by Devil_HS, so it should be available on my Patreon at the end of the month if everything checks out!

Thus, enjoy your Tuesday and I'll see you next week!

While it's been a slow start and I haven't gotten as much done as I'd like, there has been progress nevertheless with some new assets created for future content and, probably most importantly, having Lady Farah being added as the next character to be available for the tent mechanic.
Although, only available at Castle Warrengard since she doesn't appear in camp.

In unrelated news, the next chapter of the "In the Shadow of Anubis" comic by Devil_HS is done and currently pending me writing the dialogues for all the pages, so that shouldn't be far off!

A heavy lightweight update, incoming!

With the newest beta being out this last weekend, I can't really say much progress has been made since the previous Tuesday besides polishing up for the release and then fixing a few reported bugs afterward...and while I hate making underwhelming weekly summaries, a Tuesday post will always be a Tuesday post!

But the next one should be fairly normal as I'll be back on track!

Time for another one of these!

I would assume the most important announcement people are hoping to hear about today would be whenever the new beta is going to be out, and with that, I'll be aiming for this Saturday!
The one thing I'm not sure I'll be able to make in time is implementing one of the three new Scholar Quiz rewards, the specifics of this one hasn't been announced before, so the impact of that should be minor as I realized when I began working on it that it'll likely take longer to finish than I thought.

But the Art Gallery is optimized to run faster, the Encyclopedia no longer list useless 0/0 stuff, Windy Canyon and Fellhorn Ruins are slightly expanded, you got the Gabrielle reward scene to look forward to and there is a third Bad End to trigger.
Oh, and I've also added a few trading cards so more animations are available for unlocking by completing each character's individual set.

That'll have to be all for this week, see you again next Tuesday after the release of the latest beta!

Strap yourself in for some exciting news!

Gabrielle's CG Scene is done, boom! Gabrielle has been added to the tent mechanic, boom!
And with that, is there really anything else I can say to top what I already just mentioned?
Okay, how about this...new beta will be released towards the end of this month, boom!

With those boomers out of the way, I've also been working on implementing the new Scholar Quiz rewards I added a couple of weeks back as some of them are larger in scope compared to others.
I'm currently in the process of overhauling the Encyclopedia too, so location statistics are more relevant and only list what you can get in any given area, rather than having the useless 0/0 stuff.
Some locations also underwent minor tweaks, most noticeably Windy Canyon.

Although, I should probably give a heads-up to beastman players.
The Gabrielle CG Scene included does unfortuntely only have one edition/style done, and that's a human one, which could end up changing between right now and by the time the beta is released.
There is also the new Bad Ending, and that one has all five editions/styles in it.

So with that, I'll see you guys again next week as always!

It'll be quite a short one this time, yet sweet!

Let me get started right away by saying a little over 2/3 of Gabrielle's scene was done this week, it's one of the more engaging ones too with only the scene with Naz'Raala having around the same amount of choices being given to the player.
I also finished a cutscene taking place a bit later in the game, when you arrive at Tseneria Isle, so it may not be in the right sequence but it is one that will be used later on nevertheless.

And...that's literally it, although hopefully the Gabrielle progress update will make it worthwhile!

Tuesday update ÃœBERLOAD!!

Yush, I'm taking a moment of self-reflection to pat my own back on a job well done!
While I'm still stuck on Gabrielle's scene (pressure does that to your nerves and I'm only human), there is a ton of other stuff I've managed to accomplish this week, so let's get right into it!
Locations that previously was locked off due to story-related progression can now be visited again with one of the new Scholar Quiz rewards, this mean you'll be able to finish side-quests, collect illustrations, purchase shops, find undiscovered search spots, trigger CG Scenes etc. you might've missed before.

One of these "past" locations also has new content that'll lead into a third Bad Ending I've added.
It is actually a scene I originally planned to include and had commissioned from the CG artists all the way back from 2013, which makes it one of the earliest scenes, so that goes to show how far ahead I plan for some things.

And to round up this day, I've also added an alternative way for "Lost Illustrations" to appear.
While they were mostly found in towns and indoor locations, the new collectable which work just the same is called "Hidden Stash" and will instead show up in caves.

Thus, I hope today's update will bring a little extra joy in your life!

Praise the ghost bitties!

It's been quite a while since we saw one of these, but here is the next emoticon with Amaya in her default expression, the third Ultima who you'll first encounter in the Drowning Castle during Gabrielle's personal side-quest.
The location itself will become permanently visitable later on once you unlock your own ship, and it will likely be during this time you can take on the ghostly lady and add her to your summoning line-up.

As for the weekly update of what has been going on at my end, I've managed to work a little on Gabrielle's scene, although less than I would've hoped.
On the flip-side, the Traveling Scholar with his unique rewards has been added to three more towns and the CG Gallery has been updated with 10+ scenes that were previously available in the Hall of Memories but missing in the Art Gallery.

And that's about it for today, until next time!

A later Tuesday update...? How nostalgic!

This week is going to sound a bit like a repeat of the last one, as I've been tinkering away on Tseneria Isle and spent a lot of time optimizing the Art Gallery.
I mentioned during the previous update that I hade tweaked the gallery to load pages twice as fast, but I've also made illustrations load/close and open up three times faster to supplement the overall experience, while the two illustrations shown on the main pages of the Art Gallery has also been changed with the featured pieces being switched as you progress further throughout the story.

The Encyclopedia has also seen this update to the illustration you're greeted with when opening it up, with the displayed visual now reflecting your character's heroic/renegade stance and changing accordingly.

I'm hoping to have some more Gabrielle related news next week, but until then, I'll see ya!

Time to knock another one into the butt!

With all the currently finished animations now added to the game, it turned out to be eight of them.
Although, I believe only Beatrix's can be obtained, so I'll be working with Sparrow to make more trading cards and finish off a few more characters in the upcoming weeks.
Along with making a few more Tseneria Isle maps, the majority of my time since last Tuesday has been on optimizing the entire Art Gallery, something I pointed out a while back I wanted to do.
This has made every page in it open/close twice as fast (or more) and will surely be an appreciated update for those who spend a lot of time in it.

And I think that's pretty much it for this week, short and...uhh, yeah!
So I'll be back again next Tuesday with another update as always!

'Tis the egg season! Be sure to thank Laquadia for all of her hard work!

Let's begin with quickly getting out of the way I've been hammering away a little bit more on Gabrielle's reward and designed more maps for Tseneria Isle, but the main bullet point this week is the introduction of unlockable animations I brought up some time back.

Done by the same artist who created all the original battleposes, Kristallia tutorials and summoning animations, these ones are gained by collecting all ten trading cards with each individual character, which in turn unlocks the animation for that female.
So far around seven characters already has their reward finished, but the end goal is to give every female with a trading card set entry within the gallery their own animation.
Even if you've already collected all ten cards earlier, they'll still be unlocked for you.

Thus, I'm sneaking off to see you again next Tuesday!

Aaaaaand one beta release later...!

Despite playtesting things myself and polishing up on the available content, it'd seem like a couple of minor bugs managed to slip through anyway, but those have already been fixed on my end.
The rest of my time over the last week has been spent on creating maps based around Tseneria Isle, the next location within the main storyline as the protagonist and company are heading off for the Mermaid Triangle.

That's pretty much it for today, as beta release weeks tend to involve less update content.
So with that, I'll be back again per usual next Tuesday!

Boops-Beeps-Boobs!

Everything is set and ready for the upcoming beta that'll be released this weekend to my Patreons!
Unlike the previous one, I'm way less stressed out and rushed to meet the deadline for this as I gave myself a more reasonable timetable, and that has allowed me to polish up all the new content that'll be included to what is hopefully the best of my abilities.
Although, I can't guarantee it'll be absolutely flawless since there is a lot of behind-the-scene tweaks to mechanics I may think I've pulled off perfectly, yet overlooked changing a mere number 4 to 5 or something, which is literally all it takes to create a bug/glitch.

Sadly, I have to confess Gabrielle's CG scene won't make it into this version.
But hopefully everyone can agree it would be a shame to rush it in with disappointing results when you have already waited so long for it...and I'm not even making a Cyberpunk 2077 jab, I swear!
Everything else up to that point will be in it, though!

And with that, I'll see you next week, one release later!

Bling that chin, Tuesday update y'all!

The Gabrielle "heist" to the Drowning Castle is done, twice even!
Yeah, the reason for that confusing statement is that I had finished the ending cutscene to the location but weren't happy with how it turned out, so I remade the entire thing...with way better results, that is the blessing of taking your time and not having to make every first attempt your final take. xD

I also made a few maps and created a bunch of new assets for the Divine Palace of Luminessa to make it stand out while feeling a bit more unique than any other interior you've seen so far.
It feels like I did more, but I don't recall at this very moment what it was.

So with that short update, that'll be all for today!

Holy shiitake, it's Tuesday again!

Unfortunately, I ran into a bit of a block on how to handle the ending to Gabrielle's side-story during the middle of the week, and while that has been solved by now, it still took up a few days.
During that period, I've instead dedicated my time to polishing the current content for the upcoming beta later this month, making small improvements and play-testing certain parts to ensure they work as intended with the photostudio mechanic being one of the things I'm most proud of.

So let's use this week to summon up what will be new in the next beta!
- Big Encyclopedia update with additional rewards and previously missing titles added
- Story content, filling the gap between leaving The Magna Gerulus to arriving at the Divine Palace
- Four new locations, one currently exclusive to Gabrielle's side-story and one fairly well hidden
- Photostudio mechanic with around eight characters to unlock/already have unlocked
- Three new costumes, one for Gabrielle, Bal'Rana and Kythie each
- Aaaaand two new side-quests

If it can be done in time, it'll also have a CG Scene between the protagonist and Gabrielle.

I think those are the main points, but there are a bunch of minor stuff too.
But with that, it'll be the end of this week's update!

Guess there is no point in mincing words...this week has been helluva good!

And it's been in areas that make for a good Tuesday post too, so let's get started!
First of all, I'm currently in the process of updating the titles in the Encyclopedia to list a few missing ones and correct some that wasn't 100% accurate.
The entire Gabrielle sub-plot about going to the Drowning Castle for a score is nearly done too, I only have the closing cutscene left before I move over to the "reward" part everyone has been looking forward to...wink...wink...smirk...smirk...

Two additional side-quests has also been added, with one of them being the previously missing feature of getting Laquadia a nice little outfit for her to wear during the Strippin' o' Die mini-game, which will be mandatory to do once, but if you've already played against her before, that doesn't matter as everything will pick up exactly how things were left off once you finish that side-quest.
Finally, I reduced the requirements for triggering Elin's CG Scene.

And that'll be the weekly round-up for now, see you again next Tuesday!

Time for another decent update!

While it might not make for much of an update, I got a lot of work done this week.
The Art Gallery is now fully updated and makes better use of space on each page like the CG Gallery while also reducing the amount of pages you'll have to scroll through.
I've also managed to finish three seperate cutscenes, from being aboard the Magna Gerulus to arriving at Luminessa, which should make the next story-related part being the Divine Palace with the introduction of Ice Queen Celestia and Fire King Azastral.

So the next beta will be definitely be out next month!
We'll see if I can get the Gabrielle section done before then, as I'm still unsure if I should focus on that side-story or more of the main plot first...heck, with a good run, maybe I'll be able to do both!

Thus, today is over and I'll be back again next Tuesday!

Early Tuesday update!

And we're back to our regular schedule of more easy-going news stream.
I've spent this week tweaking the graphics for Lewd Box opening, fiddling with some older locations, along with adding trading cards and additional illustrations to the more recent ones.
I also noticed I never added any clothing pieces for Kythie in the past, so I've added enough of those to at least let you get a new costume to unlock.

But the vast majority of the time has been on overhauling the galley, since the optional illustrations portion of it has been long overdue for one since I did the same with the CG Scene Gallery.
I'm about half-way done, and when I'm done it'll be reduced from 22 pages (I think it is right now) to 14 instead, making each page more packed and reduce the amount of scrolling needed.
I may also make other small improvement like speeding up the "loading" times.

Thus, today's update is already donzo and I'll be back again next week!

Bring the popcorn, today's update will be another good one!

I quite literally just started this post after finishing the photostudio mechanic.
Some aspects of how the camera works has been tweaked to feel a bit better to use and I've introduced two new items in the Rewards section of the Encyclopedia in relation to the camera.
The Leather Leash mechanic has also been added and can be used with the "slaves" you hook up to your throne/wall in your private quarter of Castle Warrengard, with the first time per character triggering a small cutscene while subsequential uses let you play it out again without dialogue.

On top of that, I've gone over interactables that had "hidden" options until you got the right item.
Now it'll instead list the hidden option as locked and tell you the specific unlock condition if you click them, such as teleportation from crystals describing the feature is gained by winning the Scholar Quiz in Port Ronod, hopefully this will be helpful to new players!

And with that, I'll be back again with another update next Tuesday!

Let's blow the information load!

After several weeks with a bit of lacklusting updates, let me amend it today.
The International Edition version of Beatrix and Elin has been added to the Strippin' o' Die mini-game, I've also added a small cutscene that introduces players to the photo studio mechanic if you've built and upgraded it in the Castle Warrengard courtyard.
A few characters will be available from the get-go like Farah and Mhu'Tiki, with others being unlocked from a variety of things such as progressing through the story, helping them out etc.
You will also be able to unlock backgrounds for use by "completing" world locations, all of this is retro-active so any finished locations or characters from the past will automatically be added.
The coding for it is nearly done, so you can view a preview of the character select layout below.
(Used from the scrapped version of Bal'Rana's shop that turned into the Hall of Memories)

Some of you may also have seen leaked, animated videos of Laquadia working a gloryhole or Beatrix getting frisky with her faithful Tharg floating around the web in the past few months.
These were early prototypes of experimenting with how animations could be played and interracted with, and on that subject, collecting all ten trading cards in a set with unlock an animation with that specific character, done by the same artist who did the summon/tutorial animations.
When these will be added is unsure at the moment, but it is a confirmed feature!

And with that, I hope this week's update has been more refreshing!

Praise the Suns! (Lady Gwynevere's miracle orbs)

Another busy week done with the Frozen Continent worldmap and it's night experience tweaked.
Even more additional assets has been made to improve on old and upcoming maps alike, new monsters added to Proving Grounds and the Hot Spring Retreat is nearly done with NPC's.

A fan requested feature has also been implemented in the form of turning on/off luck enhancing items for the dice game, which can now be done from the ledger on the desk in your private quarters at Castle Warrengard, which also lets you change dice set up right there and then.
And finally, the International Edition now covers another CG Scene.

With that, I'll see you again next Tuesday as always!

Boogaloo Bungie Boobies!

'Tis has been a busy week, I got nearly all the graphical layers done besides maybe one or two, made additional assets that will be applied to a few previous maps, added Mhu'Tiki and Ra'Tiki to the International Edition of Strippin' o' Die and found a few issues I got cleared up.
(Did you know all indoor tent maps has a graphical bug? Well, it won't be there after next beta!)

I also spent time on trying out different ways of making the haunted mansion creepy with some creative spooks not applied anywhere else in the game, oh, and the name for that place ended up becoming "The Drowning Castle".

And with that checkmark, I'm out for now!
