So far, so good...no drillings, no construction work, and a week of rest.
I feel I still need more time to get well, but it's certainly a huge improvement over last week!
Heck, I've even been able to finally work on the game some more in the recent couple of days!
Nothing exciting though, just arranging and adding Beastman Mode content into the game, along with having a few Beatrix related items finalized.
Speaking of which, I'll either show her normal emoticon in the next update, or Mhu'Tiki's battlepose...we'll see which way fate will turn, huh? ;)
But for today, I wanted to do something special to celebrate the six months of terror being over!
Oh, and that the incredible tropical heat wave over Sweden is over...it only lasted a few days, but it felt like waaay more and I don't want it back.
So here you go, a "mystery photo" that certainly has no business being outside of LoQO: Origin!

Question: When can we expect the next beta (0.10) to hit? Or are you skipping that one and going straight for an Episode 1 release in the next few weeks?

And I've been wondering this for awhile, I don't know if I asked this before or not though, when it comes to voice actresses, do they know that they are voice acting in an adult game? And if they do, are they like used to it already? For example:
Scenario 1
VA: wow thank you so much for giving me this opportunity Gabe! I love voice acting it is my passion!
Gabe: aww you're welcome sweetie CAN YOU ACT LIKE YOU'RE SUCKING A DICK?

I was just wondering if, one author to another, you'd be open to some constructive feedback on the latest beta that's out there, because I feel that having some critiques on my work on what works and what could use tweaking from somebody who actually knows more than his own ass is always helpful for the growth of my books. You interested, or do you get enough haranguing for petty bullshit on your backer forums because you didn't include somebody's ultra-niche fetish correctly? (If you're interested but don't want to do this publicly we could just swap emails or skype or something)

Wasn't even looking for a collaboration, Kryptic. As much as I like the series (I used to be one of the original wiki organizers, even) I've got my own writing projects to work on now. Just thought that offering advice for what has been already seen could be helpful. And most of what I had to say was positive, anyway - like the fact that Masquerade's VA is doing a not-half-assed impression of Harley Quinn has my boner like diamonds. I believe that constructive criticism should never be saying 'this is shit, you should fix it' but more of an ongoing question - "that's an interesting story choice you made there with the nobles all being unrepentant assholes to the homeless - could there be any legitimacy to their complaints, like most of the crime in the city coming from the homeless populace, or is this an intentional motif of 'the upperclass are disgusted by those filthy proles who breathe their air'? Or is this just something that wasn't considered too deeply?" It's a back and forth, not a lecture.

DeleteNo, I totally get where she's coming from with not wanting somebody who doesn't know how to properly give constructive criticism (which really should just be constructive feedback if it's done properly) to get a direct line to her. When most people do it, they do it in the manner of 'this is shit and here's why, that's my criticism, here's how you fix it according to my tastes, there's the constructive bit'. That kind of talk nearly killed my desire to write when I was younger, but what was just as destructive in a different way was when people never called me on the shit that, looking back with a stronger base, I should have heavily rewritten before letting anybody see. Blind kiss-assing is just as bad as endless hate, and you've got to find the virtue between the two vices - After all, that's what editors are for, right? (besides catching the spelling errors you're too tired to find, but that's a different story). That's all I meant by it, really; an offer to be an informal storyline sounding board for the woman who's working this project as a one-woman-creative-force. But like you said, it's her choice.

But I just wanted to let you knw that I along with many others really appreciate all the hard work you are doing to make such awesome games!! And sometimes life happens and there's nothing you can do about it but we're patient because whatever you create is definitely worth the wait! Your games were the first I've ever played and they are definitely the best out there. You have everything I like and more in them and I love your creative mind. I'm serious your stories are so good they should be made into a book or show or something....or a porno hahaha. The most important thing right now for you is rest and so we will wait and hope you have a speedy full recovery!
