Tuesday update ÜBERLOAD!!
Yush, I'm taking a moment of self-reflection to pat my own back on a job well done!
While I'm still stuck on Gabrielle's scene (pressure does that to your nerves and I'm only human), there is a ton of other stuff I've managed to accomplish this week, so let's get right into it!
Locations that previously was locked off due to story-related progression can now be visited again with one of the new Scholar Quiz rewards, this mean you'll be able to finish side-quests, collect illustrations, purchase shops, find undiscovered search spots, trigger CG Scenes etc. you might've missed before.
One of these "past" locations also has new content that'll lead into a third Bad Ending I've added.
It is actually a scene I originally planned to include and had commissioned from the CG artists all the way back from 2013, which makes it one of the earliest scenes, so that goes to show how far ahead I plan for some things.
And to round up this day, I've also added an alternative way for "Lost Illustrations" to appear.
While they were mostly found in towns and indoor locations, the new collectable which work just the same is called "Hidden Stash" and will instead show up in caves.
Thus, I hope today's update will bring a little extra joy in your life!

So are we able to get to the Frozen Continent yet? I've been trying for the last 3 months and can't seem to find a way there. Nor to Festival Island, that damned sea captain keeps telling me he isn't ready to go yet. Been seriously considering have my wonderful pirate captain lead a mutiny to takeover ship and sail away!

DeleteTo get there, head to Odidania and speak to the captain in the harbor (eastern side of the town). Might need to head to the tavern first, for a short scene.
I've done both during daytime and nighttime. He just keeps telling me he isn't ready to sail to Festival Island. I've apparently done the Tavern Wench Challenge at the tavern too. Not sure if I did it for both gals but since it doesn't give me the option for the challenge at night, I'm guessing I have. And yes, using 3.06.

DeleteOnce you've seen the scene (Gabrielle/Bal'Rana being cats), head all the way to the east port and you'll meet with Lady Lynerve, who will let you sail on her ship.
I think you need to meet the mayor of Whitestone(?) first, though.
They turn into actual cats? I've totally missed this bit. How do I get to it? Where and how to I meet Lady Lynerve? If memory serves, I got into her mansion in the east once but she didn't mention anything about a ship.
DeleteIt's frustrating, I can't figure out what I missed or how to accomplish it to get to the Frozen Continent and I've started over the game a good dozen times since the last two updates that allowed us to get there.
Any step by step for this part is appreciated.
Okay, here's from the top of my head:
Delete-After seeing the Black Dame disappear in Castle Warrengard, head to Odidania and head to the Mayor's house.
As I don't know how well versed you are with NESW (I don't mean this as any form of offense, I figured I should just make it clear):
North = Up, East = Right, South = Down, West = Left.
To find it:
On the first screen (the one with the Crystal), head North. On the second, head East. On the third, head North and then North on the fourth screen all the way to a large house. Enter it. Head to the second floor (stairs are right in front of you).
-A scene should play out in which the Mayor there, Lady Lynerve and Mayor Wilheed should be talking.
-Lynerve will agree to bring you along on her ship (somewhat reluctantly).
-Head South to the previous screen (screen 3), then East. On the next screen, head South/East until you reach the stairs leading South. Take them and head to the next screen to the East.
-Your party members (Mhu'Tiki, Ra'Tiki, Beatrix and I think Kythie) will stand outside the Tavern. Speak to them and they'll tell you that there's something going on. Head inside the tavern.
-Gabrielle and Bal'Rana are wearing cat outfits (sadly, no actual transformation involved) and are having a Tavern Wench challenge. You can watch it vanilla, extra stakes or make them stop it. Vanilla and extra stakes have two different CGs.
-Once done, head all the way East and you'll be allowed onboard Lynerve's ship.
-Do the stuff on the ship and you'll on your way to the Frozen Continent.
*Sigh* I have so totally missed something and that something seems to keep me from continuing on.
DeleteThere is no way for me to see the mayor in Odidania. There's still the guard at the front door to the place telling me to take care of the passport the mayor gave me. So I am missing whatever gets that guard away from the door so I can enter once again.
I can't find the slave collar needed to get Leather Leash reward, the only named reward I don't have.
The Black Dame is still in Castle Warrengard.
My stats in the Encyclopedia says I've:
64% complete game progress, 11/11 crystals activated, 26/26 quests completed, 47/47 dimensional shards, 43/44 cleared locations, 57/57 discovered locations, 10/10 treasure maps cleared and 42/42 properties purchased.
2/2 Ultimas Defeated, 27/31 Legendaries Defeated and 31/32 enemies defeated.
So I guess I have to wander around and find those last 4 Legendaries and last enemy?
Frustrating is what it is! Must have somehow blocked myself from completing what needs to get me to the Frozen Continent somehow. :-(
Dumb question, what's the last story related thing you remember doing? Sounds like you haven't completed the main story leading up to the Frozen Continent. IIRC, it should go that you meet with a literal Goddess, meet Osira in Colussia, traverse yet another Spire, then the Black Dame should leave Castle Warrengard.
DeleteLeather Leash is easy to obtain.
Head to Kahr (the desert town) and head to the item shop during the day (from the first screen, go North and then West when you're at the top of the second screen). One of the shopkeepers sells it.
And that's where I think I've blocked myself somehow.
DeleteI've been to both shops to the west of the Kahr Inn and neither sell the leash. I checked all 3 sellers in the two stores.
As to story arcs, I've met lizardy goddess, went to homestead with Farah fading, went to Collosia to find it controlled by Liazardmen and talked with Osiria. I'll try hitting all the spires again and see if anything gets added.
I may have done something out of order and it now blocks me since I can't find the leash in Kahr.
So, two things.
ReplyDeleteFirst: Okay, so that's me misremembering - for some reason, I thought that Kin'Aurae spawned in one of the Spires (maybe she did? Been a while).
Second: You don't purchase the Leather Leash. In Kahr, speak to the Vargonian Shopkeeper. He'll sell you the Slave Collar. Once you have it, you can obtain the Leather Leash from the Rewards menu. That's something I should have clarified and I apologize.
I'm in the middle of running through the game right now (out of boredom) and have just reached the Crimson Forest so it's going to take a while for me to get to the (current) end game again. I'll let you know what I did after meeting Kin'Aurae to advance the game.
Okay, so I have one question:
DeleteAfter meeting with Osira, did you go to the Church (the place where you started)? Because that's the next storyline place before you get access to the Frozen Continent.
Someone posted a couple of pics for the store in Kahr so I was at the right place. Also posted the price list showing the slave collar, which I do not have listed in my store. The picture also showed a lantern for sale above the slave collar, which is also not in my list of items to buy at the store.
DeleteAll I can guess at this point is somehow a save from an earlier version of the game has made the game buggy for me. I'm going to do a clean download of v3.06 and play it and see if those items finally show up in the Karh store.

DeleteShe had nothing for me, so I figure my game is glitch and deleted it and started over with a new downloaded version of 3.06.

Nah, but I've heard game saves sometimes don't update properly to newer versions if the newer files are added to the old folder...or something like that.
