Let's get this show on the road, shall we?

I've spent pretty much this entire week working on the mechanic I mentioned in the last update.
It's panning out better than expected with lots of opportunities presenting themselves as I progress, it'll essentially be a strategy mini-game where you move your troops across a tiny version of the Beldorian Empire worldmap and claim military checkpoints to remove a fog of war and unlock more areas where you can boost your army and send them on expeditions to bring back stuff.
Claiming checkpoints also effects the main game, like I said last week with how liberating the Imperial Manor will give you back access to the location and let you "rescue" Layla the Mare.
I debated with myself who should lead the army in the field for strategy/diplomacy, and it came down to either creating a new character for the purpose, have it be Beatrix, or even Lady Farah.
Taking everything into account, I figured the best choice would probably be Lady Farah.

Oh, I've also published the comic "In the Shadow of Anubis III - Chapter 02" on my Patreon!

And that's about it, see you guys again next Tuesday!

  1. Damn that sounds nice! But personally i would have chosen one of the Kristallia fairies to "lead the army in the field for strategy/diplomacy", there methods are effective to say the least! :P

    1. Personally, both Beatrix and Lady Farah have the ability to lead the army. I'm wondering if you can do something like divisions, each division is set to liberate an area and led by a general. For example, Beatrix should be in the Collusia area, Lady Fara in the south and one more for the Odiana area. Hmm, turning Laquadia on her most faithful region Odiana definitely is a sweet revenge.

  4. Dunno why, after hearing this, I got a sense of dejavu I explain better the minigame for liberation of areas remind me the battles made in suikoden 2,with just a twist since legend of queen opala origin is essentially a porn game, so why not add some good scenes as reward?

  6. How you describe it, i think a little bit of Vampires Dawn 2 from Marlex with the Castle qonquer fights and from the possibilities with various units ( Axe, Sword, Lance, Bow, Crossbow, Magic, etc.) to alliances with various factions for example the Tribes from the Beastman (Land of Savages). This would be a good chance for a Story Plot for Players whose Devon a Vargonian, Nal'Quines or Val'Toras is to learn his Father was a Warlord or high ranking Warrior of one of these tribes before he met Cecily and he gets in contact with them, and the Beastman would be more in the story integrated then apart for Vhazar, his tribe and the Lizardman we got not much Info on their cultur or how they react on the accusation that they have murdered Emperor Augustus.

    1. I'd love to see more use of the Walk of Shame (even if it's only around the castle I'd be fine with it).
