Surprise, it's Tuesday!

The "Feather of Awakening" mechanic is almost done.
It's been applied to every normal encounter, apart from bosses and story related fights, with the previously mentioned feature from last week of the game remembering which direction you entered a location if you use a feather to continue after a loss, no matter on purpose or accident.

Unfortunately, the way Bad Ends were initially implemented way back when meant you had to have Farah in your party (either active or on stand-by) in order for the ending to trigger, this was made to prevent having her be in focus for a sequence she isn't even around for.
As this was a basis for all triggers, this means I need to go back to all individual encounters one last time and change how Bad Ends activate, making it far less work in the future whenever I add a new one with another character, and it would also let me easily tweak some context to certain Bad Ends depending on where/how they're triggered.

Also worth mentioning is that a new beta will be released later this month!

With another week knocked out, I'll see you next time!

  1. So I'm curious; if you lose a battle (e.g trying to get Gabrielle's Bad End) and you have a Feather, do you need to lose a SECOND battle or is there an option to not use the Feather?

Never used one, thus my question!

As usual, keep up the good work.

    1. Losing and not having a feather, or choosing not to use it if you have one, results in a Game Over.
So, yes, you get to pick if you want to use one or not. :3

  2. I'm bit curious about other characters bad ending will it be there for them?

  3. Will the bad end scenes have the SethXZoe artstyle?

  4. Will there be an in-game way to know which bad endings exist? Like, when talking to the girls during camping, instead of a default "There's nothing to talk about", there could be a character specific default line about how the girl finds monster X fascinating/terrifying/curious etc.

Or Illumi or some new monster expert character could warn against certain monsters and advise to have a character with certain traits in the party when seeking them out.

A monster expert could add opportunity to provide background story for WHY the monster chooses a specific girl for the bad ending.
