Release Date

All art has now been collected, voice actresses fired and pretty much all lose ends within the game tied up.
This upcoming Friday, February the 7th, I'll be releasing the game around 9PM in GMT+1 time, I believe that is 3PM in USA, eastern coast and 3AM in Australia.

The downside is a big portion of the later half of the game and sex scene won't be voiced, but replacing the voice actresses would take too long to do now.
I may release a new version of the game later down the line with new voice actresses for some of the parts, but that won't be until months from now when (hopefully) the third game is already in production.

  2. Eeeeexcelllent.... now to cancel the wedding, postpone my surgery, cancel the dentist, adjust my sleep schedule, change the remodel date for my house, and otherwise cancel or move everything in my life to make possible the time for me to idly sit staring at my computer screen util 3 pm and then to allow a game to ravage my life, devour my soul, steal my manhood, corrupt my decency and fill me with impure and lustful thoughts...... Excellent work! I look forward to it with burning anticipation.

  3. I guess the voicing will be something for a Golden Edition?

  4. Damn! I won't be able to enjoy it that weekend because I'll be out of town and without a laptop to celebrate a birthday. :(

But still, glad you have a release date and that you handeled your voice actresses. Shame it had to end like that, but I can understand why you would fire them seeing as they missed 25% of their lines. :(

Looking forward to the game, and the third game. Unfortunately I don't have a credit card, so I'm not sure if I can donate to Offbeatr. >.<

    2. Apparently. :P

I can still throw some money your way via Paypal I guess, but I'm fairly sure it won't give me the same gifts/benifits/whatever you wanna call it.

Still, anyway I can help the third game. ;)

Oh, well that's interesting to know! Can you say who it was they played? Which character?
      If not it's cool

  7. Well that's...shocking, actually.
Sad to see things end up the way they did with the VAs, but at least we have a release date!

  8. Whelp, I'm glad to hear that, and I'll *be* glad when things move on. Good luck, Gabe.

  9. Hejsan, hoppsan där dimper releasedatumen äntligen ner. När var det del två släpptes, 2012?

Bra jobbat i alla fall. Det är inte alla som går på A-kassa som producerar porrspel av så hög kvalité.

  10. Really Good to hear that it is all coming together and all good :) That's a shame about the VA actresses though , My fav VA was Farah and im guessing she was the lazy one? bit annoying but new things will happen now :) Keep the Good work up and I will for sure put some cash towards offbeat :D

  11. Mähhhh..... Farah's AV goes..:(

    She was so good :(

  12. I'm confused did osira not get all of her lines done, or was it farah? i remember osira had an issue but did that work out in the end?

  13. Hopefully you can find reliable VA for the 3rd game :)

  14. May i ask about some hints on what the next game will be?

  15. Awesome! Thank you so much for all the hard work you put in on this game, Gabe.

  16. I'm rather okay with the lack of voices. Honestly it was off-putting in an rpg maker game.

... and did you say third game? I hope it will be much more awesome than this one.

  17. Thank you for the update!

I know it was on the bottom of your to-do list, but did you make that small addition to the arena you mentioned at the start of January? I have to admit, I'm very curious what it could be, even if it wasn't included.

  18. One important request. When you do upload the game please use a free friendly file locker like mediafire,putlocker,billionuploads,mega,etc..

Often you kindly but sometimes remiss creators use uploaded.to, rapidgator, the ever changeable rapidshare or some upstart that makes you download the thing @50kb or breaks it into 10 parts with delays (filemonster) and thats a real kick in the nuts to your fans who waited until release day (whether quietly or nagging are we there yet)

Dontated some cash a long time ago and will donate more once you start 3 up. Maybe make donation levels to match access. X thank you kindly, Y preorder, Z periodic alpha access. Don't buy into drm either if pay is the planned future. The obscurity of such games best protects you by giving a loyalty and much delayed warez attention. We, all of us know just how incredibly rare it is to get an adult game thats actually fun to play. It's a weird bag to fill and Japan sometimes does it but its another miracle on top of the original for those to be translated in English. So don't go handing your $ over to some drm goons as we the faithful are learned and will pay for such double miracles.

    1. I second the idea of uploading the game to a site like mediafire or MEGA. The huge problem with sites that make you download the file in parts and only at 50 Kb/s, other than being goddamn annoying as hell, is that you can start the download and hope that if you leave it alone until the next day you will have downloaded the file but instead you find 4 hours later at 89% downloaded that the connection has timed out and you have to restart the download.

Actually I would also seriously recommend that you make a torrent available. That way the author can seed it initially and then everyone who downloads it after that can seed it and the download will just get faster and faster.

As far as making download speeds or access available based on donations or payments I think that is a terrible idea. The author has always made the games free to play and everyone loves that. Donations are made because people truly love the game and want to support the developer and see more games made. They DO NOT donate because they want a faster download. Besides in a way that would mean that you would have to pay royalties to download the game.

All things aside, Gabe, you have serious talent. Talent that is very rare to see nowadays. It is obvious that you enjoy making these games and you have an extremely loyal fan base because we all see the passion and dedication that you put into your games (and they're fun as hell). I know that I speak for everyone when I say thank you and we can't wait to see what you come up with next.

  19. I'm incredibly excited to play the game on Friday, and I'm very glad you finished the game, but I just hope you didn't work yourself too hard for this. I always get worried about game developers pushing themselves too hard. ^^

  20. Aw, heck. I won't be able to play until at least an hour after I get off work. Dang. OH WELL, AT LEAST I HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

  22. finally figured out how to make this blood openid thing work...been wanting to comment for a while. really love the games you have put out so far and the effort thus put into them...kinda sucks about osira...for some reason i am drawn to that personality type so it kinda bites she chose not to finish her job. i personally kinda want to have control of certain aspects...like if you beat the dutchess and go for the h-scene...you should be able to go back in and bang her after shes had her spirit broken. i would also like to be able to hit a room at any given time with the girl of choice after i have gotten far enough in the love scale and bed them for various scenes...be it either repeats or new scenes depending on where you are...but last thing...since shes my favorite from loqo 1...are we going to see naacia in 2 and 3? she was a kick ass addition to the story and the sexy play thing/ dominatrix attitude...yeah...good times...

  23. Thanks gabe for this new game. I am sure that this game will be better than the previous. (Legend of Queen Opala, Golden Edition).

I have a doubt. The new game is longer than the previous?. When I play the Legend of Queen Opala, Golden Edition, I play around 100 hours, more o less (a week, aprox.). The new game is longer?.

Thanks for all your work. You are the best.

  25. Because most likely the game wasn't fully assembled yet, what's with missing pictures and voice acting.

  26. I'd bet last minute tweaking, it's easy to miss a metric fuckton of small bugs when working on a big game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Because if I had released it two days ago, you'd all be playing a corrupt version with maps missing tiles, events not playing and illustrations making the game crash.

    ReplyDelete
  28. just be patient we been waiting for this game for a while now couple of extra day isn't the end of the world and i rather play finished bug free game rather than have to wait couple of extra days for a patched game if one of the game crashing bugs were missed in the initial release so Gabe take your time :)

  32. First thing first I want to apologize about the size of my post, I just have so much to say and ask.

Hello Gabe, I am ecstatic to hear the game is coming out on Friday. I will eagerly be sitting at my computer hitting the refresh button every sixty seconds. If the third episode is anything like the previous two episodes than ill be spending 100+ hours enjoying your masterpiece. And I am overjoyed at the news that you will be making a third game.

Back when you released the first part of game two, I commented that I was a student in the game design degree and I was very impressed with the amount of work and the quality of the work that you did. I am now a graduate of the degree and now knowing full well what it takes to make a game, and not just a AAA game but really any game, and I must say I am even more impressed with the game content, the amount of content, the overall quality and just the game in general. With that said I actually have a few questions about the process in which you make your games. First I just want to say I'm asking these questions as a game design graduate so the questions will be specific and detailed.

In school we learned the the very first step in making a game is whats called the high concept, which is a short explanation of your idea for the game. I was just wondering, back before you started the first LOQO game, what your idea was. What was the game you wanted to make?

The next step is called the game design document. Its basically everything about the game in one very long document. I has stuff like the story, side stories, character bio's, character lists, enemy list, boss list, level designs, layout designs, menu designs, chest locations, hidden item locations, bonus stuff, pretty much everything that requires development. As the game is created many things on the list are changed or altered, but mostly the purpose of the GDD is to have a list of everything the game maker would like in the game My question is do you have something like this? Do you have an enemies list with all the enemy information already written out. Like how much of the game is thought up before hand and written down and than created and how much is created and or changed as the game is made.

You use RPG Maker XP right? I am not familiar with that game engine. How much of the game assets do you have to create and how much is supplied by the game. When I say assets I mean stuff like the buildings in the game, are all created by you or are they stock building supplied by the game engine. Some game engines come with stock assets like buildings, characters trees and other stuff. How much of the game do you actually have to create yourself.

What about the scripting and the code used to create the game mechanics. Again I'm not familiar with RPG Maker XP what kind of code it uses or even if it uses code at all, but I'm pretty sure It does. Did you have to learn scripting, was it difficult? Most of the guys in my class all hated learning it because it was so frustrating to learn. They hated the fact that their game could crash simply because of an error they could never find. Did you have similar problems with scripting your game?

In an earlier comment I asked if you were a game designer, and you said you weren't. Well I just want to say that you are wrong, you are a game designer. And I'm not talking some person building a crappy 10 minute game. You are a real game designer, with great skill and awesome talent. While it may not be a AAA game title, with the work you do I in the amount of time you do it in, I would rank you right up there with the guys who made Skyrim.

If I could actually do it, I would grant you the achievement of greatest indie game designer
You are awesome, keep up the good work.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Actually that poses a question. Will you continue using XP Gabe, or have you considered using VXAce or just VX?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Not that I doubt in Gabe's skill and devotion to the game, but realistically speaking we won't get completely bug-free game. With the enormous content Gabe put into game i think we will have our share of bugs. And that creates a question: Where should we report bugs, Gabe? Usually it was like all people were spamming comments on your blog w/o checking if the bug was already reported. So maybe theres some better, more clear way? Like adding image on HF "comment only bugs here" or blog entry here devoted for bugs exclusively. If theres a seperate section for bugs only, then maybe people would accually check it before posting.
