Work on the Tavern Wench Challenge continues!

Almost broke my brain trying to get some of the mechanics to work, but I'm getting there.
So here comes an overview of the statistics that'll be affecting different parts of the mini-game!

[Speed] affects the cooldown timer after each sip, allowing you to progressively get faster.
[Popularity] affects how quickly each emptied mug is refilled by the helpful, male participants.
[Efficiency] was the hardest one to implement, it both affects how much you chug down with each interraction, but also how severe the negative impact of "defiled" drinks have.

Apart from Gabrielle who has the personal skill that gives her 3x EXP from normal drinks, "defiled" ones give you 5x EXP if you are able to down them, but it's a gamble if your [Efficiency] is too low that could end up wasting valuable time as each round is scored on the amount of drinks finished, and not the difficulty/quality of the content.

That has to be it for today, hopefully I'll have all of this finished by next week!

That whole thing about the game remembering your party setup...?
Oh yeah, that's good to go if you thought otherwise! I still need to go over all the key points in the story where the party split up and implement the required triggers, but everything else is done.

And as I worked on the higher resolutions for the Tavern Wench Challenge mini-game, it clicked...
Behold the perversion, I turned it into an actual mini-game, instead of just some short sequence!
While the basic mechanics are done and it's currently playable, there are a lot of tweaks to be done to give it more depth, such as increased challenge as it progress, crowd multiplier and perhaps a skill level for each available girl to make it easier the more they've performed.
This would mean the reward at the end of the game isn't random or based on fame, but rather how many glasses you can down, with their "refresh" rate being higher, the more people are attending.
It's a bit hard to explain it all, so it's probably best experienced yourself when the next beta is out, although I can't say if that'll be this month or in May.

Anyhoo, that'll be it for this Tuesday!

The mini-game update is continuing as scheduled and I'm currently in the process of giving all assets of the Tavern Wench Challenge the larger resolution versions like Strippin' o' Die.

But I've also been working out a way for the game to remember registered party members so the exact layout you had when automatically splitting up will be restored to you whenever the team is reunited without having to select every character each time, such as when going to the Famine Wasteland, during the Blackgard Stronghold arc, etc.
At first I was just going to brute force it, although...I gave up half-way there when I realized it would've involved over 800 rows of coding, and managed to be creative enough to slim it down all the way to merely 30 lines without sacrificing anything besides unnecessary hassle.

And that'll be all for today, onto next week!

Missed April's Fool by one day...gosh darn nabbit!

Anyhoo, this week I've given more attention to the Strippin' o' Die mini-game and created 67 additional assets to give players the option of enter a sort of "Observer Mode" after winning a match to let them view their defeated opponent in a larger resolution without any HUD.
Much like how the Art Gallery let you view full-sized illustrations.
Still on the fence if this should indeed be the mechanic, an unlock for the Art Gallery, or both!

But that's all I have for you today, see you next Tuesday!

As hinted at last Tuesday, this past week has been all about updating the Art Gallery.
And done so I have! It's been refreshed to cover all currently available CG Scenes with finished illustrations as of date, which ended up being 30+ entries across multiple art styles.

So with that being said, I'll see you next week for another update!

The update to Strippin' o' Die has been finished and I'm now currently in the process of updating the Art Gallery with all the missing scenes that wasn't available in there in various art styles but could be replayed in the Hall of Memories.

Among them being the International Edition version of Celestia's sequence, which is quite the juggernaut to handle when you take all the variations and protagonist versions into consideration.
Nevertheless, I should have the Art Gallery done by next week with all current illustrations!

That's about it for this Tuesday, see you again in the next one!

This week is all about a pretty big CG update.

And while doing that, I noticed a graphical bug with Strippin' o' Die that had never been reported.
To be fair, you can't even see it in some art styles, but it's very obvious in others, so I've been working on fixing that while updating some of the available characters in that mini-game and tweaking a few to not be covered up by the UI as much.

Some bugs have also been fixed such as the Sewing Kit not working on the latest party member, along with a making a bunch of thumbnail assets for an upcoming Art Gallery refresh to display several missing CG Scenes.

But that's all I got for today, so see you again next time!

And the latest beta was released without a hitch!

Following almost tradition at this point, there isn't much to report after the new version dropped as most of my time has been spent on fixing a few minor details and taking some time off.
Also had to do some RL stuff for my family that took me out of commission during the weekend, but I have been updating the game with missing CG since then, mostly Strippin' o' Die content.

Thus, that'll be the summary for today and I'll see you again next Tuesday!

The newest beta should be out tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Most of this past week was spent on tightening up the recent cutscenes and fixing a few bugs.
But also used to tie some segments together, writing some additional minor dialogue, finalizing a new playable character joining the party and finally giving said invidual a bad ending as well.
If I listed everything new for the upcoming beta, it would be a surprisingly short one since the vast majority of work has been spent entirely on story content.

That's about it, I hope you'll look forward to the drop coming within the next 30 hours!

The cutscene trifecta has been finished and are now interconnected!

Apart from finishing these sequences, I've also updated various towns where your party members appear to add in a few missing ones, but not yet all of them at the time of this writing.
What I'll be doing now until the release of the beta is polishing up the trifecta, doing some playtesting and attempting to add any additional content I may find the time for.
There might be a surprise or two I haven't even mentioned working on, but you'll see...
That being said, the upcoming version will be out next week, either Tuesday or shortly after!

And that'll be it for today's update, see you in seven days!

The last cutscene in the trifecta before the next story arc begins is almost done!

At least the writing portion as I'll still need to set all the emoticons and character movements, the only thing remaining after that is branching the three different locations/cutscenes so they can be done in any order after arriving from the Frozen Continent, but triggering the same goal/destination once you are done with the third...although, I highly doubt the part taking place after the trifecta will be finished in time before the beta later this month.

And that's about it, I'll see you next week for another update!

It honestly feels like it's just been a couple of days since last Tuesday...where did the time go!?

While this other cutscene I've been working on since the previous week ended up way longer than the few couple of sentances I thought would be enought at first, it too is done! That means only one more is left of the trifecta before our hero is sent on his merry way into the next story arc.
And even if this last portion for some reason isn't finished in time, the next beta will still be out this month and will be like 90% story related with the remaining 10% being CG illustration updates.

With that, it's time to work through another week!

If I have very little to say and hasn't been taking time off...that's a good sign!

And that is the case for this week as well, with continued focus on story as I've jumped to the next cutscene taking place at a different location that'll be setting up the following arc.
There will be yet another cutscene taking place at Castle Warrengard too, but you will be able to do them in any order you like after the lore dump sequence I mentioned in the previous weeks.

That marks the end of this brief update and I'll see you again next week!

Like every other week when story content has been the main focus, this too will be a brief one!
The cutscene(s) I've been working on this month is done at last and only require some additional polish and playtesting before it's all wrapped up and the story moves onto the next location.
But that's as much as I can say without spoiling every step of the journey.

So we'll see where we are in the vagueness during the next Tuesday update!

Gonna be a real short one for this week!
The writing and most other parts of the latest cutscene have been finished, with only character sprite placement and movement left before it's a complete wrap on that lore dump package.
Although, a couple of mini-games has been updated with the International Edition art style too!

With that being said, see you again next Tuesday like clockwork!

Only been working on story content so far since the beginning of this year!

Still doing the same cutscene I mentioned last week, mostly because it's probably up there among the longest conversation I've ever done in my games...but the writing part is almost done!
The simple reason behind that is because the cutscene is basically the culmination of several different questions finally getting a definitive answer and lays nearly all cards on the table.
And it's probably what sets up the end goal too.

Once all of that is done, I'll have to look it over and see if there is some fat that can be trimmed down without sacrificing clarity or party dynamic.

But that'll be it for now, so I'll see you again next Tuesday as always!

Why, I haven't seen you guys since last year, hurr hurr hurr!

While this will be a short update, we're off to a strong start for 2024.
The week between last Tuesday and today have been spent purely on storymode content.
I felt the cutscene taking place at Port Ronod after arriving from Queen's Landing was rushed,
so I expanded it with additional dialogue ending up with Willheed escorting the non-combatant characters to Castle Warrengard while you're heading to Farah at your homestead.

This is where I'll need to be going vague to avoid spoiling events, but I'm far into another cutscene that is quite long and involves some of the last plot-twists still remaining.

That'll be it for now, hope you have a good one and I'll see you next week!
