Legend of Queen Opala: Origin - Update

Tuesday update, just as suspected!
Support me and production of the LoQO games at - Patreon

So, this has been a rather unbalanced week.

The construction work I've been whining about in the past is still going on, which makes it six weeks in a row I've been unable to sleep properly, even with ear-protections for the noise...and six weeks of no sleep, overdosing on coffee with up to 4-5 cups a day to just stay awake, and working on my game seven days a week...has probably not by a lot of surprise taken a toll on my health and made me completely exhausted, to the point I have trouble writing and remembering words.

Still, I feel better today than I did last Friday, so I'm pretty positive I'll feel healthy enough to go back to development soon, maybe I should allow myself to take weekends off from now on. x3

But not all is doom and gloom! I still got to add some stuff to the game before exhaustion kicked in and I've also been doing some indirect work related to the game in the meantime.
I can also announce the artist for the "beastman edition" of the game will be a familiar face for anyone who played the previous two games.

The artist who did all the scenes for LoQO and the Western Edition for LoQOII will be back, and beastman edition will also offer players to select between a horseman, a bullman and a wolfman once it's added! More species might be added down the road, but for now, those three will do!

Though it'll not be added until a later beta, or for people without access, until episode 2.

I think that'll summon up this week, hopefully I'll have far more cheerful information next week!

    1. Thank you! Still sucks I couldn't hold out until episode 1 was finished, but I'll still do my best, some relaxation included! :)

  2. Oooh my. Three different species for beastman edition? That's quite generous and so awesome!

So, Rosselito is coming back?! WHOOHOO!!!

And yeah, you really should be getting some rest. This construction thingy sounds quite awful.

    1. Yes, indeedies! On both accounts! :D

It is, I sincerely hope this is the last week because there is only so much punishment one person can take...and there is a reason why people don't live on construction sites. x3

    2. I'd never even heard of rosselito (Studio-pirrate) before!
      Good stuff, thanks! ;3

    3. Blasphemy! You never played LoQO or LoQOII before!? ;D

    4. Of course i have! I just didn't remember his name from the Gallery! ;_;
Or, idk, my memory is bad. I might have checked him out at some point.

    5. Well good thing we will be able to start a new game plus unlimited times now. The replay will be out of this world. If I may ask, is the Eastern Artist the same one as before?

      Delete
    6. Precisely! As for Eastern Edition artist, I'm afraid I had to replace him due to complications, so it's another one this time.

    7. Crap I really liked the Eastern edition artist :(

    8. To make clear, it's the Eastern Edition artist from LoQOII that has been replaced for Origin, it was a step I had to take because the artist had gotten a new tablet he wasn't used to, so quality in the illustrations had an unfortunate drop.

  3. Wow 3 beasts and more to "cum"? You are spoiling us Gabe.

Btw do the Royal Trio do anything unusual for Valentines day?

    1. Not so much me spoiling the fans, as it is the fans and their generous support making it possible for the feature to be afforded in the first place! ^^

Hmm...Good question, maybe they get together for a cum Slurpee, made by Opala and Osira's brother! ;)

    2. A cum Slurpee? That actually might be a nice way to drink cum. I think I'll try that myself. :-)

    3. I think they honestly do something like that on New Zeeland, my memory is a little sketchy at the moment, but I think it was some kind of powerdrink or yogurt, made from horse sperm.

    4. Huh, I wonder if they are having sexual thoughts while drinking it. I mean, some must have. That girl on the picture looks quite happy about it.

"He advises his customers to shoot the sticky horse semen back in one gulp rather than attempt to sip the bizarre concoction."

Oh God, is it me or is it getting a bit too hot in here?

What has the internet done to me?

    5. Haha! Well, glad I could share the joy! XD
This is what internet was made for all along, to share information.

  4. Nice to see Rosselito/Studio Pirrate coming back. His art has a certain gravitas to it that Sparrow's lacks in my opinion. (I promise that's the most pretentious sentence I'll make on your blog, btw.)

And hopefully you can get some rest soon. Working on a few hours of sleep per night is a shitty spot to be in.

    1. Yeah, it doesn't help mentally either when lack of sleep forces you to cut down on the thing you love...because I really do enjoy making the games. :)

OUTSIDE OF THAT! I hope you don't push yourself more than you have to, err... Not push yourself to the point of exhaustion I mean. I know you said you feel better now compared to Friday, but still.

    1. Yeah, I have to think long term, instead of just focusing on the now. ^^

    2. Don't forget trua fans can wait. I have several games i'm waiting for some of them will never be made, but others will come in time.

    3. True, but still, I feel I owe the fans for helping me finally make a living on creating these games. <:3

  6. I'm hyped for your game but I also know what it's like to lose so much time and sleep from aggravating nonsense. Ugh!

Seriously, like the rest said, don't go too hard on yourself considering things. I have the same issue when writing and taking a break for too long due to stress and stuff.

So yeah, go at your own pace and take easy! And never forget that You Rock, Gabe!

  7. Definitely don't kill yourself, your doing awesome work, and your real fans will understand you're not a machine.
I was wondering though, now that you have a Patreon, are you still gonna offbeatr episodes two and three of Origins?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thank you. :)
But nah, now when I have Patreon and it's doing as well as it does, I see no reason to make an another Offbeatr crowdfunding and let them have 30% of the money that is raised. xD

  8. When I think LOQO, Rosselito's art is one of the things the pops into my head so very happy to see he's back on board. I really like his exaggerated yet realistic (eg - large but not GIGANTIC breasts) take on your cast!

If you had to guess, how long do you think it will be before you're able to start incorporating his art?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And I'm glad to have him back as well! :)

I'm not sure when I'll be able to start adding it into the beta cycles, the beastmen characters will also need to have seperate battleposes/outfits and sprites done as well, so it's not as simple just adding more art.
But if I used placeholders and such...maybe the first scene would be available in a couple of weeks?

  9. Will having optional animal form content lead to less human pc content? If so... :(

    1. Considering beastman mode was a bonus funded solely by patrons and has its own artist, I doubt it will affect the western/eastern versions of the game.

      Delete
    2. "Who" you play as doesn't affect which scenes you get, only how you look during those scenes.

      Delete
    3. Awright, thanks for clarifying. :)

  10. I am a great fan of your previous games Gabe. Wish I had the cash to help with the crow funding if for no other reason but to get my hands on those Betas. Sadly I'll have to be patient and wait until you release it fully. Is it going to be released in several parts like the last 2 games or 1 single part? If it is multipart do you happen to have a rough estimate on when that might be released to the general public?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's going to be split into three parts like LoQOII, the first episode was supposed to be released sometime this month or in early March, but I'll likely have to delay that because of bad living/working conditions I really can't do anything about. :3
