Sorry for the slightly delayed Tuesday update!
I'm just coming back online after a three hour power blackout...fun times.
So like I warned last week, this entire time I've spent on watching GamesDoneQuick and finishing off trading cards in the process, did you hear any of my three donations that was read out during Freedom Planet, Illusion of Gaia and Super Mario Land? ;)

I probably did more I forgot about during all the nostalgia being showcased, but I do know I at least finished up three trading cards with Mhu'Tiki, two with adult Farah, three with Osira.
I suspect all of them will be included in the next beta release, although no date on that one yet!

And it seems like most people wanted to hear the Colussia theme out of the available songs, so just click on the name to download it - Colussia Theme

See you next week!

  1. Do you have a link for the GamesDoneQuick donation read outs?

    1. I do not, I'm pretty sure the Super Mario Land read out was cut out when they turned the stream to re-uploaded clips, same might've happened with Freedom Planet.
But the Illusion of Gaia read out should be shortly after the 2:15:00 mark, like within a minute, but the announcer ruined the joke... xD

    1. "INHALE MY DONG!"
Or...not, no amount of donations would make them say anything explicit live. ;P

  3. Hmmm, how to describe the Colussia Theme? Best way i can put into words is, it fells like you're in a fortress that's about to be attacked....nice!

    1. Yeah, this year has been reeeeally shitty when it comes to providing power... >.<
More blackouts this year than previous three years combined!

    4. And it probably has something to do with the number 23.

  4. Heh, for some reason the industrial atmosphere of Colussia made me imideatly think "Midgar" and this has a bit of a mako reactor vibe so I'm satisfied.

Random: Is there a chance you'd provide the soundtrack files in a lossless compression format?

    1. Gonna admit, I'm not a very nerdy/tech person, so I'm not sure if I know what lossless compression is. x3

    2. Basically there are three types of audio storage formats on modern digital media:
      1. Lossy compression with reduced audio quality (MP3, ACC, Ogg Vorbis)
      2. Lossless compression with full audio quality (FLAC, ALAC, Ape)
      3. Uncompresed (WMA)

If you get the files in MP3 format from the composers you could just ask for lossless compresion or even uncompressed audio. It's of higher quality and costs nothing else but disk space.

Of course, unless the composer has a technical reason for staying in the MP3 format.

    3. Oh, the final version to be used in the game won't be MP3, since they can't be looped without hiccups. x3

  5. Wow you really do love that GamesDoneQuick, I really tried to get into it like you told me. Some seem ok but it's one of those things I would rather play the game or see some games with more competitive players playing against each other.

    1. I guess I'm just old...
GamesDoneQuick is at it's best when they're playing games you remember from your childhood, and those usually are games that should stay a memory and simply be watched, as the control rarely is as good today as you remember them... XD

  6. Ok, so the collussia theme is bad ass! In a way it reminds me of the underworld and world that never was themes in Kingdom hearts 2 along with a touch of skyrim and even a pinch of God of war. And I also get what Jaht said about the mako reactor vibe.

  7. Hi Gabe. Longtime fan of your works first off, but I've been doing a lot of work on the LOQO Wiki, especially for the latest game. I wanted to point out a few bugs that I noticed as of the latest update. They're mostly just issues with the Journal/Title system that I'm sure are a quick fix, but there are a few progression/display issues I thought I'd bring to your attention. Link to the bugs page of the wiki will be at the bottom, and hope it helps.

Also, minor point of thought. When we first meet Gabrielle, she REALLY ought to be citing Bandit rule 34 as opposed to rule 37 if not simply for the nature of the game.

(Apparently I'm dumb and cant figure out how to add a link. Anyway, url is below.)

    1. How many locations issues are no longer a problem if I were to tell that illustrations/trading cards has never counted towards an area's completion? x3

      Delete
    2. One that I know of, potentially two. Honestly though, I don't see how that can be the case when you have the lost illustrations as part of the explorer titles. I'm not a programmer, and I'm not trying to be a nitpick, but it just doesn't make sense to me to let that be like that.

    3. In case you didn't notice, all the illustration obtaining side activities has their own tracking symbol within each location title.

You can clear an area without obtaining all of those, the reason why not illustrations counts towards completing a location is because the moment I decide an area can be 100%, it would mean I could never add another illustration to that place or it would glitch out.
