Sorry for the late update in the evening!
So let's get straight to it before the day has turned into Wednesday by the time I'm done!

I think I've mentioned it earlier in another update, but after I finished the Skalhalm arc, my intention was to go back to work on a story sequence right at the start of episode 3 where you head for the Illusian Forest to search for Opala while Kythie is recovering.
That is what I've been working on this week, all the basic maps are done and next I need to playtest them myself to make sure they are working properly as the location will work quite differently from anything else I've made before since there is a reason people who go in don't come back out, after all...and no, not due to an unbalanced Golem guarding a bridge this time!
This sequence will be added in a similar fashion like meeting your mom, it'll be worked into the story but can be gone back and experienced afterward without screwing up progression.

This unfortunately won't be included in the next beta though, as I won't have time to add any cutscenes before the end of the month when the next release is scheduled.
The only thing holding the next beta back from being distributed today already is me waiting for some CG illustrations to be finished for the newest scene, and some gallery updates.

But I think that'll do it for this week, tune in again next Tuesday y'all!

  1. That sounds awesome. We can finally save Opala. And while I'd like for you to keep working on that, I must ask once again...Ra'tiki in the tent for the new beta? Yay or nay?

  2. Eh it's probably just a really polite forest that asks travelers to stay, something like "wood...you kindly" goes a long way or so i've heard!

  4. Hey have, I have a question. Have you given any thought to eventually the no g any of the games into an app for those of us on mobile devices? I only ask because I did a search for a loqo app on a whim and found nothing. So is it even a remote possibility? Or am I being a daft idiot?

    3. Theoretically it's possible but it would be difficult. See the reason it hasn't been done already is because the engine it's written on(RPG maker XP) is a PC only thing and to play the game you have to have at least the basic assets for it installed(RTP I think it's called) and that can't be done on mobile or at least not without a mobile version of RPG maker XP being made first or without rooting or jailbreaking your phone(even then it's not certain your phone could run those assets even if it's a windows phone). That leaves the final options of either A)emulating the assets somehow on your phone or B) porting or rewriting the whole game on a different engine which IS compatible with phones which is a difficult prospect at best. Not to mention Gabe or somebody else with her permission would then have to tweek the game to be compatible with as many different hardware and software version of phones as possible which is really something you need a whole team for.
All this makes it unlikely there will be a mobile release for these games in the near future and possibly never at all. Sorry for rambling or bursting your hopes there.

    4. Also Lord Fireice while that's a valid concern you face just as much risk of it on your PC as on your phone. Also the laws of many countries differ on the subject but for most as long as the character in question is not drawn to look REAL and is stated to be of age(in most countries 18 but some younger or older) the laws do allow some leniency on art such as this. I saw somebody post a perfectly legal porno a few weeks ago of a full grown woman having relations with a man who(through a genetic condition) could easily be mistaken for a child and I'm not just talking midget here I mean he looked like a 6 year old chinese kid. Quite frankly that disturbs me but I can understand some people's attraction to the idea. That said it was within the law and in most countries Gabe's work also is within the boundaries of the law. And those it isn't it's up to the player to know whether it is and act appropriately.

    5. Besides the character in question(I am assuming you mean Ra'tiki) is stated within the game to be of a species which is described as "Child like but long lived" and is also stated to be older than most if not all the other players Or at least not a child.(I can't remember the exact wording)
