Legend of Queen Opala - Origin Screenshot

Hey everyone!

Since the crowdfunding is going rather well, I've already started production and is now able to share with you the first screenshot from the game, showing a street from Colussia, the Capital of the Beldorian Empire.

As you also can see, I've learned quite a lot since LoQOII and can now take full advantage of the RPG Maker XP engine.

Take note that this is not a "brushed" screenshot, this is how the actual in-game graphics will look, maybe nNot so impressive compared to some AAA game, but I'd like to think it looks MUCH better than LoQOII. xD

  1. DAMM! Time to get a new graphics card :P . I can see the mist and the colors seem to look bit more deeper and scary in the dark :)

    1. If you could play either of the previous LoQO games, then you can handle this too...I'm just better with the graphics now, it doesn't require more of your computer. x3

  2. I would really like to see In the Preview a pic of the protaganist or young Farah even if it's just a sketch.

    1. All the females will with time be presented, but we're still years away from a finished game...can't spill all the secrets before the crowdfunding is even over. x3

    2. Na I mean more of an small pre on the two most important char in a way like the main.
You said He would be a former Soldier but what kind of Soldier?
A Knight, Paladin or something else also What will be his main weapon?
Also is it possible with Rpgmaker to have a Dual-weilding character or maybe an two handed.
      Small stuff like that.

    3. I always said he is a knight in the Beldorian Army, he'll also be dual weilding swords.

  4. I was wondering if you would be interested in having a male voice actor for your game?

    1. Its a tricky question, because it has been very hard to find specific voices that fit.

    2. I could send you a demo, or if you would want to hear particular dialogue, you could tell me.

  5. You've done a wonderfully awesome job with the first two games (well, three if you count this remake), and you're getting better and better at making these things. It'll be a pleasure to see what you come up with for Origins, and I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival. =3

  6. Thanks for the screenshot Gabe, it's great to hear you're getting even better with the engine! I am glad you've always used the day/night cycle not only to have extra content without needing extra screens, but also because nighttime shots like this can look nice. Here especially the lighting is a great touch. The fog effect is good for setting a tone, but it seems smart to use it sparingly for best effect.

Also, Colussia is a great name for a fantasy country capital! Although you've designed large capitals before, it would be great if LOQO - Origins had more of the buildings and people in them have some purpose.

Glad the Offbeatr is going so well - $33K and still more than 50 days to go! Definitely looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

  7. Looking good, it will be nice to see what other unique maps you can make. Maybe if you can, use new music. Some of the music in LOQO II seemed off, since it played in other places with different moods. The Imperial city ruins for example, not really the "get ready for the big fight with Altum" kind of music.

    1. Could not stand the musc in grand Aideen castle.
Thought it was fun in the desert hearing Gerudo valley.

    2. I wasn't a fan of the Ultima fight music. I'm to used to hearing that when I go kill Dracula, so it was kinda lost on me to hear it when fighting gods/goddesses/big balls of hatred.

  8. Hate to ask for a spoiler, but I remember you posted previously that you were thinking of having a female Protagonist soon. From the sounds of what you said in a post above, the pro is a male in this game. Are you still thinking of a female pro for a future game?

I for one think it would be fun to play as Milana, and a sort of 'corruption' meter could be added to show how close to lesbianism her 'targets' are.

    1. Well my the spin-off idea I have for when Legend of Queen Opala - Origin is done, and if nothing better comes up, will nearly be all about girls having fun, and them as protagonists. x3

    2. Huh that sound's pretty fun i would love a chance to play a game with nearly all girl cast. Hopefully one that also isn't only about rape like other all female cast games i have tried lately. But first Origin of course i can't wait.

    3. I got better idea what about we can choose hero or protagonist gender
it will be fun if we can play as male or female or even futanari
      and
i got another idea about magical growth pill what if you make new kind of it, it not grow hero penis but maybe it can give hero secondary penis or balls

      sorry bout my english

  10. Gabe, in the newest version is there any chance that you could add a health bar in the battle scenes? When having a health bar, it makes you excited to know that you've almost killed your opponent but without one it's a mystery and it just feels like the battles going to go on forever, If that made sense at all, -Sailgrotto

    1. Even if I wanted, I can't.
Adding a new script corrupts save files, and would force everyone to start all over again.

  11. Gabe, congratulations! LOQO- Origins reached the first stretch goal of $35,000! Definitely looking forward to seeing the extra scenes. Do you have these scenes planned out in advance, or will they be developed as the game is developed?

    1. Thanks! Well only the first scene is already planned out, but since production of the game won't really start for another 50 days, its a bit early to already have them all considered. x3

    2. I played the first two games and they were great I got one question though. In orgins can you romance any female in your party or is it just Opala, Farah, and Osira? In the second one I wanted to romance with latext but I couldn't.

    3. There will be fewer females in the party, but at the same time you'll be able to romance far more women outside the egyptian trio. :3

  15. I hope Origins gameplay will be longer or much longer than previous game. Don't get me wrong, the previous are awesome, but the story's kinda short for an RPG for me. I can handle 1 GB or two, Bring it on! Good Luck, gabe! From your Indonesian fan.
