Alrighty, have a screenshot preview of how safe cracking now looks!
The updated mechanic has already been fully implemented and a new safe added to Odidania so even those who already cracked all of them get to sample how it'll work from now on.
The audio cue you hear when a correct number is hit will likely make it a very easy mini-game, but maybe I'll have a more difficult variation come into play later in the game where that audio cue is removed and you'll have to rely on visual hints instead...we'll see!
I've also finished the sidequest called "League Invitation" and renamed it "Sharing is Caring" that will lead into another one called Snap: Paellicia, which was a previously unfinished sidequest that were very briefly available in a short-windowed beta before I remembered to remove it.
(If you already activated it before, it won't glitch or bug out anything)

ReplyDeleteTo play without audio is your call, there might be a visual clue added later, but not from the beginning.

ReplyDeleteGabe i gotta ask since you are reworking a game mechanic. Why did you make the tent mechanic as you did? To be honest compared to the rest of the game it feels like little effort was put into it and as a result I pretty much never actually use. Was there some technical problems or something?
ReplyDeleteI mean something as simple as a repeating scene thing would have been good. Something like what you did but instead each option you take causes a small repeatable scene with CG.
So yeah out of curiousity why did you make the tent mechanic as it is.
I'm not trying to change your mind or complain it's just compared to the very thought out details and mechanics of this game it feels really out of place (doubt anyone finds 2 sprites going at it very erotic).
Cgs cost money. Having 1 cg per art style and Mc variations would build up pretty quickly. Also, a decent amount of people do find pixel sex erotic

DeleteThe sprites scenes are there for variation and, at least to me, it doesn't feel out of place since the game already has other sprite sex encounters.
...Although if you play with sound off, I suggest turning it back on before experiencing the camp scenes!
I do play with sound on, but just hearing noises with sprites I don't find particularly sexy doesn't really do much for me. Sure you used sprites in other situations but I felt they were there mostly as a means to set the mood or more like a decoration rather than anything actually erotic.

Those scenes doesn't only have noises, but voices too...although, mostly just moans and gasps.
DeleteYeah I think its mostly because of the standard I had gotten used for any sex scenes previously in the game. It was a still image with a "variant" at the end with a nice juicy description to go with it.
DeleteCompared to just moans and sprites going at it its a pretty huge difference. I also much prefer a still with a nice description than a badly done animation. For me its either a black screen with a pure text description going into full detail or a still with a description that gives you a nice idea of the flow.
