Here we are, first update of 2018!

And let's kick off the new year by introducing a familiar face, one who has technically been a villain since the first game, alongside Osira.
However, if you never finished LoQOII or haven't played the earlier games, you would be clueless as to "how".

Some of you might've figured out what part she has already played in the story, even though you haven't actually met her...only overheard a conversation between her and another person, but she is very much a presence, although more of a background character so far.

In more game development related news, while it took longer than expected, I've finished adding all the cosplay photos to the game and also took the time to visually update the trading card/cosplay photo gallery as they share the same display layout.
It's barely noticeable, but it makes the galleries look less "empty" since the previous update which removed the huge bar covering all corners and taking up valuable space.
And...that's about it!

Hope you're having a great start on the new year, and I'll see you next week again! :D

  1. Never knew she had elf ears....huh. Well it definitely works. Hope the protagonist gets some time with her, I don't know how romance will work though.
    Happy New Year Gabe!

    1. She is a Neverus, and they are a race, so it would be more odd if she didn't had elven ears when all the others do. ;)

    2. I guess that's my fault for not making it that far into loqo II. It was just surprising because looking back on Sparrow's picture when you revealed that she's in loqo origins earlier in development, she doesn't show her ears.

    3. But she is all exposed now. ;D

  2. Do you regret hiring so many artists? Do you feel it hinders you?

    1. Not at all.
The numbers of scene are unaffected by the amount of artists since they are doing the drawing, not me, and adding the illustrations to the game is a relative quick thing to do.
Having multiple CG artists also helps keeping the project alive, since it doesn't mean the end of everything if something would (God forbid) happen to one of them.

  3. But how did she get away from all the lovely beetle sex? Why did she even want to get away from beetle sex? Is there a beetle sex position open? Can I have her old position?

  4. Happy new years Gabe!

I don't remember Naluna having elvish ears but then again, she's not human. Looking forward to seeing more returnees from the previous games. Naluna, Neena, Eclipse, Nehas...

Maybe Naacia will show up again?

    1. It might've been overlooked since it was only mentioned maybe once in LoQOII, but Neverus are sensitive to the sun which makes them get a permanent, darker skin if they are exposed for too long.
It explains why Iliona is a "dark" elf, and why Naluna is still in the default skin color after all this time, due to always being covered from the sun.

  5. It's 2018 you know what that means, the 20th century is legal nudge nudge wink wink(Picture it a woman dressed up in a 2018 custom getting fucked, what ....just me...).
So ya, good to see Naluna coming into the story with her broken armor, fingers crossed it's broken the right way, like a cracked breastplate(common nip slips).
And a happy new year to anyone reading this!

  6. This image of Naluna has me speechless. It's awesome! That's a cruel beauty! <3

  7. Oh wow, she looks so different, I wouldn't have figured it out without you dropping massive hints...

BTW, I just checked and as one of the earlier commentors already wondered: She really did have normal, round ears in LoQO II (at least in the western edition, the estern artwok never showed her ears and neither did her portrait) So... Misscomunication with the artist, maybe? (._. )?

But the other thing that surprises me is that it seems like she went from platinum blonde to brunette...?
Is that intentional or is that still supposed to be blonde?

Not that the artwork itself doesn't look great, it does...
It's just that this is the first time I have trouble recognizing one of the earlier characters of the series in LoQo O's portrait style...

    1. I don't know who the heck you're thinking about, but this was Naluna's portrait in LoQOII. xD

    2. Uh... Yeah? As I said, her portrait never showed her ears. It was the western edition of her scene that did...
Here, I did a quick cropped and censored screenshot of it:

Believe me now? I'm not really into lying to people and sorry if I came of as dishonest. (._. )

    3. But how is that platinum blonde...?
      Platinum blonde is white. x3

Scene aside, the portraits from LoQOII and this one for Origin has the same hair color.

    4. It's just an update to her look, games do this all the time between sequels, take the darkspawn from Dragon age for instance, they are completely difference between games.

    5. @SweGabe: Oh, okay. Sorry, I didn't realize you were pointing to the portrait because of the hair color, not the ears. My fault. My fault too for appearently misunderstanding what platinum blonde means.

But still the LoQO O portrait just looks brunette to me... Maybe there's something wrong with my eyes?

@Beliar: Ah, okay. Soo... What is Dragon Age? And what's the darkspawn?

In any case though: yeah, I know characters occasionally go to redesigns, but I just wanted confirmation if that really is a redesign or if I'm imagining things. SweGabe pointing out that her hair color didn't change seems to indicate the latter.

    6. I don't mean to sound insulting...but yes, there might be something off with your eyes if she looks brunette to you here but not in the LoQOII portrait, since both show her with orange-like hair. ^^;

    7. Although, it's more likely your monitor. ;)

    8. Dragon Age is a game made by Bioware back in the day when they were actually good.
As to what's the darkspawn, long story but they're one of the big bads of the series and they went thru some significant design changes between games

As for the hair color it's pretty much the same on my end both pictures have a yellowish orange hair color hair.

    9. Ah, thanks Beliar for explaining this.

I think I heard of Bioware before... Didn't they do that Sonic RPG game?

And I already commented on the orange revelation, but for some reason my comment didn't end up in this reply thread, but as a new one bellow...?

  8. *Squinches eyes*
Yeah, when I think of it orangy hair, it actually works for me. Funny how color perception works like that (Remember that white/gold or blue/black dress thing?).
I assume the problem was that I hardwired the thought that she was straight blonde not orangy-blonde into my head which caused this different shade of orange to register as brunette with me.

  9. Wait, how was Naluna responsible for LoQO I? Was she the one who let Osira out or something?

    1. I honestly don't remember exactly since its been nearly ten years, but I recall there was a secret cutscene you could get post-content that showed her and Rüghart.

    1. Man I hope we can fix her problem and give her a million children so she can stop being grumpy about not having children^^

former comment deleted because of severe typos, yes they were that bad^^

    2. Lol, didn't seem to help making her a mom of a couple of million "bugs". x3

    3. Its probably not the kind of motherhood she wished for herself xD
But yeah Naluna is a cutie, maybe she just needs a snickers^^

Im really curious anyway, how you can turn all the antagonists into companions anyway^^
But if there is someone who can write that its you

      Happy new year everyone btw

  12. My question Gabe is how the hell did Naluna travel back in time? Was that ability a gift from Osira's serpent god? Did she use another choker? This has been nagging at me since episode I.

    1. Everything else is a spoiler, but I can answer the potential time travel shenanigan by pointing towards a line that was said in LoQOII, as one mentioned the teleportation between Egypt and Namaria isn't just one that can be used to travel between dimensions, but even time itself if the user is very proficient in magic use.
Neverus themselves were the guardians of magic, so none know it better them then, but even so time traveling for be something forbidden and likely not normally teached as it has side-effects.
But Naluna is not your everday Neverus, she inherited all the lineage secrets and knowledge when she took the role as ***** from the previous one.

    2. So she DID rely entirely on her own inherited gifts and didn't seek assistance from another source.

Thank you for the quick feedback Gabe and great looking emoticon BTW.
